The Two Fatalities Revealed in Brown University Attack as Police Press On With Hunt for Perpetrator.

Both young individuals who were killed in Saturday’s violent attack at Brown University were being remembered Monday – while an intensive search for their shooter continued following the discharge by authorities in Rhode Island of the sole person of interest in the case.

Honoring a Lost Student

The student Ella Cook, a sophomore from Alabama, was called “an amazing, stable, pious, radiant soul”, per the Cathedral Church of the Advent, Birmingham, which offered condolences for her at a ceremony on Sunday.

Cook was the vice-presidency of Brown’s branch of the College Republicans organization, according to the organization. Karoline Leavitt also expressed words of sorrow publicly, saying in part: “There are no words. Thinking of her kin and peers, above all her mom and dad.”

An International Student

The other deceased individual was an Uzbek national named MukhammadAziz Umurzokov, from Uzbekistan in his freshman year at the Ivy League university, according to relatives.

Umurzokov’s identity was officially acknowledged by the foreign office of Uzbekistan.

“He was incredibly kind, funny, and smart. His ambitions were lofty of entering the field of neurosurgery and helping people,” his sister, Samira Umurzokova said in a tribute.

The Shooting Incident

Nine other people were hurt in the weekend shooting in the engineering department of Brown’s university in Providence, during the school’s final exam period.

Officials stated late Sunday that a man aged 24 arrested in a raid at a hotel about 17 miles from the university earlier in the day was being released.

“We have a murderer out there,” said Peter Neronha, Peter Neronha.

Neronha explained, “Sometimes you head in one direction, and then you must reassess and go in another, and this is precisely what occurred over the last approximately one day.”

Community Anxiety

Brett Smiley, Brett Smiley, admitted: “We know that this is likely to cause fresh anxiety for our public”.

The assailant opened fire inside a room in the engineering facility on Saturday afternoon, shooting over four dozen bullets from a handgun, a police source informed the news agency.

Police that raided the hotel recovered a pair of pistols and magazines when the individual was arrested, the news agency reported.

Condition of the Injured

Among those wounded, a single scholar was released from the hospital, mentioned Christina Paxson, Christina Paxson. Seven more were in critical but stable condition, and one was in critical condition, police said on Sunday.

Durham Academy, a private K-12 school in Durham, North Carolina, said Kendall Turner, Kendall Turner, was one of the critically injured.

More Condolences

Cook was honored at a religious service in Birmingham on Sunday. A pastor commented, “She was an incredible, grounded, faithful bright light not only in her youth... but at Brown she was a radiant presence in that institution as well.”

A group leader, Martin Bertao, posted a statement from the club. “She was famed for her fearless, heroic, and gentle spirit as she aided her club and other students,” he said.

Jonathan Henick, Jonathan Henick, said he was “extremely sorrowful” by Umurzokov’s death in a statement. “Our profound condolences go out to his relatives, companions, and peers and lament the passing of his bright future.”

The weekend's murders at Brown, the seventh oldest in the US university with about over seven thousand undergraduate and postgraduate students, occurred during one of at least 392 shooting incidents documented across the United States so far in the current year, according to statistics.
