Los Angeles experienced citywide festivities after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a nail-biting seven-match World Series championship. Fans across the globe united with Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has achieved back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Draws Enormous Crowds
Local events featured a procession through the city center on the morning of the parade, a reserved-seating event at the team's home stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.
Social media videos show thousands of Los Angeles residents packing city center avenues, many displaying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a open-top bus through the masses, hoisting the championship trophy high.
“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an translator.
The parade route ended at the stadium, where the players emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ providing music and the artist driving a light blue classic car around the field.

However, Mark Walter was met with a less warm welcome at the rally. Video footage from the event seem to depict Walter walking onstage to a combination of applause and boos, with negative shouts punctuating his address.
The World Series served as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An estimated 225,000 people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member one athlete, supporters this year demonstrated equal or greater support.
“It seems it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
